  3. Dear Registered SPITFIRE Sysop:

  5.      We at Buffalo Creek Software would like to take this opportunity 
  6. to thank you for your support of SPITFIRE.  The first thing you must 
  7. do is overwrite your current SPITFIRE.EXE and SPITFIRE.OVR files with 
  8. the version 3.3 SPITFIRE.EXE and SPITFIRE.OVR files.  Additionally, 
  9. you must copy the new SPITFIRE.HLP, LAKOTA.COM, SFPCKUSR.COM and 
  10. SFPCKMSG.COM into your SPITFIRE home directory.  Further, copy 
  11. SFBATCHD.BBS/CLR and SFBATCHU.BBS/CLR into your DISPLAY directory.

  13.      In the event that you are converting from SPITFIRE version 3.2 
  14. to the greatly enhanced SPITFIRE Version 3.3, the following steps 
  15. will have to be executed.

  17.          CONVERTING FROM SPITFIRE VERSION 3.2 TO VERSION 3.3
  18.  
  19.      Begin by placing SF32_33.EXE in each SPITFIRE HOME directory per 
  20. each node and execute it.  Messages will appear on the screen as it 
  21. works to update system and work files to SPITFIRE v3.3 format.  
  22. SF32_33 will convert SFNODE.DAT, SFSYSTEM.DAT, SFMSG.MNU, SFFILE.MNU, 
  23. the SFORDER files, SFMCONF.DAT, SFFAREA.DAT and SFUSERS.DAT.  Once 
  24. this process is finished, then SF32_33 will ask a series of questions 
  25. required to create LAKOTA.CFG.  NOTE: In the event you are running 
  26. multi node, make sure that LAKOTA.CFG is in the home directory of 
  27. each node.

  29.      Once this is completed, SF32_33 will display messages that     
  30. inform you what additional steps YOU MUST TAKE to complete the      
  31. conversion process.  Follow these steps closely!

  33.      Additionally, SFMSG.MNU and SFFILE.MNU have been altered by 
  34. removing "<S>....SPITFIRE Doors Section" and replacing it with 
  35. "<L>... LAKOTA (QWK Mail System)" in SFMSG.MNU and replacing it with 
  36. "<S>..... Shuffle Files"  in SFFILE.MNU.  Therefore, in the event you 
  37. are using display files for menus then you will have to alter your 
  38. display files appropriately.
